Safety#1489

As members of the chemical industry, CARBOGEN AMCIS is fully committed to managing the risks and dangers associated with unstable materials and processes.  We are dedicated to developing and maintaining voluntary safety, environmental and health standards above and beyond the standard legal requirements. Within our facilities, both management and individual employees are responsible for the safety of our personnel and our customers and protecting the environment.

Highly Potent API Supply

Safety is paramount in the handling of Highly Potent APIs. Our primary concern in operating our containment facility is to never compromise worker safety, product quality or environmental control. At CARBOGEN AMCIS, Personal Protective Equipment serves as a final backup at the end of a Protection Cascade consisting of four levels and within a rigorous system of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Unit Operating Procedures (UOPs), document systems and trainings. The levels are:

  • Level 1: Sealed processing - Wherever possible, all processes are contained within sealed process envelopes such as reactor systems, filtration and drying systems.
  • Level 2: Containment - Achieved with our state-of-the-art containment equipment, which enables us to handle highly potent raw materials, intermediates and APIs.
  • Level 3: Room and associated environment - Applies to the containment facility itself and employs a “building within a building” concept. All operations, equipment, supplies and even the building’s infrastructure are dediated to containment activities.
    • Dedicated staff for facility
    • Dedicated worker facilities
    • Restricted access (e.g. swipe card)
    • Dedicated operations equipment/supplies
    • Defined, auditable waste management plans
  • Level 4: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and occupational health procedures and monitoring - serves only as our final backup at the end of the protection cascade.
